In 2010 Massachusetts liberals were overjoyed by the new national Smart Grid which flexibly transferred wind and solar power from all over America to Massachusetts. In 2020 the Republican President ordered the Smart Grid Technical Committee to secretly cut off power to Massachusetts every time there was an anti-war demonstration. The cover story was some technical failure. After the third time Boston had been blacked out for 24 hours following a demonstration, the Governor got the message. State Police began a major crackdown on demonstrators and arrested all leaders of the anti-war movement.
